"We can't take back the words you wish you never said."

My Favorite Highway
This group from WASHINGTON D.C. has a nice blend of up beat pop/rock-ness, the first time I sampled their newest album "How to Call a Bluff" I played the whole thing at least 5X in a row, because the songs were soo catchy!!! (+eyecandy)
My favorite thing about watching them and listening to them is that they have a charming and yet silly quality. In their music video for "Say So", one of the members is dressed as a moose. NUFF SAID!! haha just playing, but you know this is just my opinion, and why they added up to be a favorite is beyond my capabilities to explain.

Let's do the Can Can

STRAIGHT NO CHASER.

Who doesn't admire pure collaboration of talent? These guys are incredible! If you have heard of the King's singers and dig the a capella sort of music...then check Straight no chaser out.
Personally I'm not a big fan of X-Mas music, although I have to sing it all the time for choir and such... nyeh, but they pulled this off leaving my mind blown!!!

Matt White again?

On that note, I have one of the catchiest indie bands I've ever heard...locally grown in Austin, Texas!

I found this band before stumbling upon the artist Matt White... strange?? yea.. it was a long time ago.. before YOUTUBE EXISTED!!!

Anyways, check out this sound!!
See full size image
Thats the album cover for their album, Burn Out Bright!

Don't forget to support the local artists!! Oh.. and of course the well known ones!! Keep them coming!

Playing with Ketchup.

Hope everyone had a nice lil mini break...
I had a tragedy and disappointment occur before last summer, and that was when my external hard drive completely crashed. It was the only place where my music was saved and I was very upset over that. But, a miracle happened because this year around September, I decided to give it another try. I plugged that baby in and it started right up! Good news is that I have all my music back! Reflections During that time, was a down period in my music obsession, because I didn't want to find new artists or else I would feel the need to download and buy their music. If I did that though, I would have no other means of saving it. BUT, if I happened to stumble upon new music and artists that I liked, I wrote the name down on my white board and just kept a lil list. Teitur Nizlopi The Boy Least Likely to My Favorite Highway Ballas Hough Band Miniature Tigers
etcetcetc...etc..
Sooo just yesterday I started to find the albums and good stuff!!!
I want to share with you one of my all time favorite male solo artists.
Introducing Matt White..he has himself a nice elvis-ish look
don't you agree?

John Butler Trio Wins.

"I don't wanna be wrong way going down the one-way road wrong way going down the one-way road."
One Way Road - John Butler Trio (HD)

John Butler Trio | MySpace Music Videos

This catchy song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the month..

They come they take
It’s never enough because they can’t relate
To the real world
Thinking that the oyster is just for the pearl
They start those wars
They want to own the land sea and all the stars
And right those wrongs
They change their history with their poison forked tongues.
All right, who’s they?
A: Maybe it’s the government of today
Or B: for the big business man who thinks the whole world revolves around him
Or C: for the corrupt official for A and B he be the man in the middle
Or D: for discoverer for Cook and Columbus and the pirate plunderers.

Doesn’t mean I ain’t got no fight now just because I don’t got a gun
The lyrical is heavier than lead and this guitar is my canon
Just like Martin and Mahatma I’m gonna love I’m gonna over come
Maybe its E: for all of the above but I don’t want to be…

Wrong way going down the one-way road wrong way going down the one-way road
Wrong way going down the one-way road gonna turn it all around gonna back it on up
Wrong way going down the one-way road wrong way going on a one-way road
Wrong way going down the one-way road gonna turn it all around gonna back it on up

These men who they say we should follow BUT we can’t follow men if their hearts are hollow and
Mmmm yes how can we respect puppet regimes we do not elect?
Straight up straight up like Pinocchio and every time they lie man the fire just grows so
Now’s time to be part of the solution raise your fist if you believe in revolution

Doesn’t mean I ain’t got no fight now just because I don’t got a gun
The lyrical is heavier than lead and this guitar is my canon
Just like Martin and Mahatma I’m gonna love I’m gonna over come
Maybe its E for all of the above but I don’t want to be....

Living in a pantomime living in a fantasy
I don’t want to be don’t want to be I don’t want to be don’t want to be no
Living in a pantomime living in a fantasy
I don’t want to be don’t want to be I don’t want to be don’t want to be...

Absense makes the heart grow fonder..

Guess what I stumbled upon browsing through youtube? Another band! They say not to judge cds by the cover and I did, and I'm glad I did because this band is really good! I'm really surprised that they are not even more popular. You might have heard them before, if you watch One Tree Hill...or if you are fans of Paramore because they toured with them..

I like them because they find a good balance with electronica, ambience, and indie pop

Oh ya BTW they just came out with a new album, Absense, in April of 2009.

Please Recycle,

As I am sitting down to my curve packet, getting prepared for a major history exam tomorrow...I am listening to my all-time faves and it feels like home. I have a playlist of all my fave songs, and since I thought I had lost all my music I was not able to listen to them, but it is all fixed and life is GREAT! My day has been made complete because I am listening to familiar songs that just put me in a jovial mood.

Was introduced to me by my friend in Michigan and he sent me this song which I found was very very much interestin..and well pieced. His name is Peter Bull, if you just listen...you will understand what style of music he makes. (after the jump...just wanted to try it )

Anyways, he makes mash ups... remixes... multiple songs pieced together... really sweet

Where is Boyce Avenue?

Right here Right here! This band is kinda typical in style, alternative rock, Christian rock style, but just something about this trio caught my eyes, ears.. you know what I mean.. on there youtube channel they have many many many covers that are alll veryy legit.

Boyce Avenue consists of 3 brothers :D ( reminded me of the Hansons, Jonas..) BUT IT'S NOT POP, which is a plus. To be honest, the Manzano brothers are really good looking with there smiles and puppy eyes, I hope they come back to TX and have a concert here, maybe I could meet them??!?! They look like really down to earth and chill people, you can kinda hear it in there music! The band that this band sounds like is kinda like The Calling...nice vocals, melody, rock instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics... the best word to describe this style is Melodic rock i guess.

I would like to give them hugs, they look so huggable!! teehee..cute

Now I Know

So tonight, instead of doing my college applications because it matters, I decided to browse other music blogs and see what I could find. I FOUND SOMETHING incredible, I've always been a fan of people who could use those loop machine's, but this chica Theresa Andersson made it so smooth and dance like!! :P

Isn't she cute? She is from Sweden. IN HER ALBUM SHE SINGS IN SWEDISH!!!
The blogger from whom I found this from said that he was gonna marry her :D silly. This song is completely a one girl band! I first saw something like this when I saw Imogen Heap in concert, and that was also amazing! I wonder how many instruments they know how to play.
"Would you come away with me? Cause you go to my head. I'm just trying to feed my empty heart."

One Man Band

"you're staying up just to dance alone"
All right, who likes POP? For me it depends on mood, and tonight' gonna be a good night! This talented guy has got the beats to sound like a band with just himself! He also has a way with words. He calls himself A Rocket to the Moon, but his real name is Nick Santino. Kinda made me think of Play Radio Play! Except the genre of music is different! Preetttyy Cleeverrrrr!

Listening to his old stuff, I think his latest album is totally different...since I am hearing more autotune and more electronic sounds in the older songs. I recommend his new album On Your Side.

You are my baby

I absolutely adore Evan Yo, ever since his first album 19. This is the cutest music video concept, and although Evan has matured a bit, his cuteness remains. <3,>

He is a talented violinist, pianist, and song writer who is a big fan of Avril Lavigne. lol.

Had a tough day, only because I didn't allow myself to sleep and watched (500) Days of Summer instead. Which was also a clever concept and movie. After seeing this music video, I was beaming from ear to ear because of the "awww" values it contains. =D

Golden Smile You Got Style..

We Shot the Moon

Sway Your Head

This band from San Diego, California is my most recent findings. I love their manly voices mixed with catchy beats. Their newest album that just released called A Silver Lining that caught my attention with their clever and inspirational lyrics and feel good harmonies.

Their song Sway Your Head is a good example of what I first heard that gave me such a lasting impression. What do you think?

Confession.

I'm not sure how this blogging will work out for me, but I've fallen into following the advice of a fellow blogger buddy. She told me that since I loved music and was always finding new bands and artists, that I should just blog about them, and post clips and photos...

well..

I hope this doesn't turn into just another one of those music blogs.. but I finally decided on starting this because I wanted to keep track of all my newest findings, lately I just can't keep track of artists I've already found and just forget about them completely!!! what a trageedyyyyy!

Now a little bit about my music tastes...I love alternative, indie, vocal, instrumental, chinese, korean, japanese, latino, russian....but the artists I always fall back on are the ones who just make me feel GREAT! Ah..
